Fusion power - within our grasp?

Image of three blue heads in profile on grey background

Fusion is the combination of atomic nuclei, releasing vast amounts of energy. In nature, fusion occurs in the centre of stars but can it be harnessed on earth? "I'm an Engineer, Get me out of here" winner Stevie Wray reveals the issues.

Stevie will explain the principles behind magnetic confinement fusion; the current state of fusion research and what the next steps are to develop commercial fusion power. As a special addition to the regular content, there will be an additional section on the power supplies used on the Joint European Torus (JET) from a design and operational point of view.
