About this event

Cyber attackers are today finding new and better ways to take advantage of the rapid expansion of digitization and the increasing connectivity of businesses, and the ways in which our personal lives interwoven with mobile and cloud technologies, the internet of everything and our own digital personas. We need to discover, understand and comprehend the Hyperconnected World, its opportunities, challenges, disruption and exploitation. This presentation will provide a holistic assured picture of the threat landscape, crime as a service and cyber hygiene to combat criminal intent.

Additional information

Dr. Christopher Richardson EngD, is Head of Bournemouth University Cyber Security Unit (BUCSU) which is a fusion of enterprise engagement, knowledge exchange, research and education in Cyber Security. Dr Richardson is an experienced Information Assurance Practitioner who works to develop greater awareness, skill training and expertise in cyber security, board member of the Dorset Cyber Alliance, Co-sponsor of the Dorset Police CyberSAFE campaign and he is actively involved in outreach to local schools and colleges concerning security education.
Previously, Dr Richardson taught security topics to military personnel at the Defence College of Communications and Information Systems (DCCIS) at Blandford Forum. He started his career as an Avionics Technician with the Royal Air Force in 1980 and left the service in 1989 as RAF Engineering Officer (CE). Since leaving the RAF, he has Programme and Project Managed telecommunication services, gaining his Chartered Engineering in 1991 and filling the roles of a Chief Technical Officer, Vice President, CEO, Qualified Teacher (QTS) and Civil Servant.
