Lucy Simister from South Brent is the author of a biography titled Charles Babbage from the Beginning and in this talk will explore his Devon heritage, his working life and what inspired him to develop the computer. It will also cover his connection to the post office, coach design, seismography and Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
