Distributed Control of Energy Resources

Lecture

Local event icon image

With the increase of devices such as micro-generators and electric vehicles comes new challenges in control of these distributed energy systems. Join us to hear how intelligent software agents can be deployed to control decentralised systems.

Date and Time

28 January 2015 - 18:30-21:00

Location

Bedford, United Kingdom - icon_popup  (See map)

Organiser

Organised by the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire local network.

About this event

The increasing penetration of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) such as micro-generators and electric vehicles in the electricity network is expected to raise issues with the reliability of the power system, due to the lack of controllability of their energy output. As their numbers increase, it would become impractical or difficult to control them centrally. In this talk, we will discuss the concept of controlling these resources in a decentralised manner, using intelligent software agents.
