About this event

Located at Cowlairs in North Glasgow, the £200m West of Scotland Signalling Centre (WSSC) controls signalling across the Glasgow suburban, Renfrewshire, Ayrshire and Inverclyde routes.

One of Network Rail’s new Rail Operating Centres the purpose-built facility will be gradually expanded in the years ahead to incorporate signalling operations currently carried out from smaller boxes around the route as part of the company’s move away from its current system of 70-plus local boxes.

A tour of the facility will include the main signalling floor and also the centre’s training simulator.
