About this event

We are on the edge of a revolution which will see robots and artificial intelligence computing
(AI) taking over in manufacturing, service industries and transport; with driverless cars, trucks
trains and planes, AI doctors, accountants, bankers, internet shopping and 24/7 production
lines all run by robots.

The new jobs are in the knowledge economy driven by innovation and requiring the skills of
creativity. From the World Bank to the House of Commons it is agreed that practical science
opens the door to jobs in this knowledge economy by teaching and developing the skills of
innovation and creativity.

This lecture will show how practical science (illustrating how science works) can be accessed
by all and how all students can develop their skills of innovation and creativity. The University
of Bradford leads the world, presenting its programmes to the House of Commons and to the
Chinese Academy of Sciences, you can get one step ahead in the jobs game.
