Joint Event.

About this event

Organised by the IMechE, this event will be hosted in the University of Portsmouth, with whom the local area IMechE and Young Members section have a close connection: running our regular evening technical lecture series and encouraging student membership.

This event will consist of a discussion and debate regarding the impact of Engineering to Society as a whole and to our contribution to Society’s abilities to cope with the forthcoming challenges in the future. It will highlight the importance of the formation of Engineers who are the lifeblood of the professions future.

Our eminent speakers from the Profession and the Government will discuss the situation, the risks, the issues and their proposals to address them.

There will be opportunities to challenge our speakers - principally by submission of questions in advance, but also through Chairman led questions.
