About this event

Matt explores the Internet of Things - connected devices that will change our daily lives.  Matt explores the various devices, from internet connected washing machines, fridges, to the car you drive and field devices such as remote sensing, control systems and monitoring and the challenges, especially the security issues that face the future of these devices.
During the presentation, Matt will expose a security flaw by hacking into a Smart Electricity Meter that is feeding a building and disconnect the power remotely, causing the occupants to lose complete power, perhaps until the audience decides when/if it should be turned back on and on what terms!
Presentation is followed with a demo of certain internet connected devices, with an interactive session for audience members with computers.
