About this event

Radiation has many useful medical applications.  These include x-ray radiography, nuclear medicine imaging and radiation therapy.  Overdose of radiation may cause damage to body cells and tissues.  In this seminar the two speakers will talk about radiation shielding protection projects in hospitals.   The seminar will cover the types of medical radiography machines, ways to estimate radiation level, and engineering design for reducing patients’ and caregivers’ exposure to radiation.


About the Speakers:

Dr Jason CHAN is the General Manager at MGI (Far East) Ltd.  He is a fellow member of the Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management, and member of IET, HKIEE, CIBSE and CIE.  Ir Sam Wong is the Project Manager at MGI (Far East) Ltd.  He is a fellow member of SOE, and member of HKIEE and CIBSE.  He is in charge of radiation shielding projects at St. Paul’s Hospital and Tsuen Wan Adventist Hospital.
