The Leeds Energy Society in association with IET North Yorkshire and West Yorkshire Networks presents an  expert panel debate on hydraulic fracturing (fracking) for shale gas in the UK: open to all students, staff, academics and members of the public. Click here for an introduction to the issues.

Professor John Barrett - Professor of Sustainability Research, University of Leeds

Dr. John Blaymires - Chief Operating Officer at IGas Energy PLC

Simon Bowens - Friends of the Earth’s regional campaigner for Yorkshire and the Humber and the North East.

Dr. Liam Herringshaw - PDRA in the ReFINE group (Research Fracking IN Europe), University of Durham

Cllr. Andrew Cooper - Green Party Councillor for Kirklees and environmental spokesperson for the party

We expect this event to be popular so please print your free ticket to ensure entrance. The event will take place in the University Refectory starting with complementary refreshments at 18.30. Free parking is available at the University after 16.00 and is best reached via Woodhouse Lane.
