Investigating Failures & Condition Assessment

Date and Time

08 April 2014 - 18:30-21:00

Scunthorpe, United Kingdom - icon_popup  (See map)

Organised by the Humber local network.

About this event

Bob’s talk will begin with a brief introduction to the methods that can be used to investigate High Voltage Equipment failures.  There will be case histories from a range of industries such as oil and gas, petrochem, electrical transmission, shipping and power generation.  Failed HV components will be passed around the audience for the attendees to examine and make their own assessments of the causes of failure.

Bob will complete the talk with examples of HV equipment condition assessment techniques which are used as part of condition based maintenance programmes so that cost effective actions can be taken to reduce the incidence of failures.  The talk will include some of the possible pitfalls and the benefits of the different techniques.
