About this event

Peterhead power station is a multi unit station owned and operated by Scottish and Southern Energy. This visit is an opportunity to see the equipment on site and learn about the power generation process. This is the perfect visit to complement the joint Shell/Peterhead power Station Carbon Capture Presentation organised by the IET for the 30th July 2014 (See IET events website for further information)

On arrival please report to the security gatehouse for a short site induction.

Additional information

Visitors under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
All visitors must wear sensible footwear, preferably flat soled shoes. Narrow heeled ladies footwear is unsafe in some parts of the Station.
Visitors are advised to wear trousers as they will be crossing open mesh flooring.
Any visitor with a particular health or similar problem (eg vertigo or difficulty in climbing stairs) should bring this to the attention of one of the guides prior to the tour.
All visitors must wear the safety helmets, high viz waistcoats and goggles provided whilst on the tour and the earplugs in designated areas.
No smoking will be allowed on site.
No photography will be allowed on site.
Mobile phones must be switched off at all times whilst on site.
Visitors must not touch any plant, equipment or models.
Visitors must keep together in their allotted party and follow the instruction of their guide.
Visitors must not climb or lean out of railings etc.
