Organised by the Hong Kong local network.

About this event

There has been an increasing interest in inter-vehicle communications or vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANETs) for improving road safety and traffic efficiency. This seminar will introduce the latest development in vehicular communications and inter-networking technologies. Stochastic traffic modeling approach for inter-vehicle communications or vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANETs) was introduced in signalized urban road systems to determine the degree of connectivity as well as the communication network and illustrate that system engineering and planning for optimizing both the transport and communication networks can be carried out with the proposed models. The seminar will be delivered in English. United Kingdom, in 2010. His research interests are in wireless communications and networking, specifically in vehicular ad-hoc networks and intelligent transportation systems, wireless mesh networks, and capacity scaling and power control in wireless networks.

The Speaker

Dr. Ivan W. H. Ho received the BEng and MPhil degrees in information engineering from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2004 and 2006, respectively, and the PhD degree in electrical and electronic engineering from Imperial College London,
