Date and Time

Organised by the Manchester local network.

About this event

A presentation competition for 18-26 year olds, and you don't have to be an IET member to take part.

First prize on the night is £150 and second prize is £100, with both also winning a year's free membership of the IET - could be a very profitable 15 minutes!

It is a great way to practice your presentation skills, meet some interesting people, hopefully win some money and also listen to some very interesting talks.

We run this event at Manchester Metropolitan University John Dalton Building.  Each contestant speaks for ten minutes on a technical topic of their choice, and must then take questions from the audience for a further five minutes.  The audience and judges (there are three of them) have varied technical backgrounds from both industry and academia, and you are thus judged mostly on your ability to explain your technical topic to people who, whilst technical themselves, won't be familiar with your specialist area.

Food and drink provided, audience members very welcome.
