About this event

British Transport Police is the national police force for the Railways including London Underground, and is responsible for policing over six million passenger journeys every day.  It is one of the world's oldest police forces, the first to use police dogs, the first to recruit female officers, and the first to use technology to assist in solving crimes.

 As a specialist police service for the railways, it is responsible for keeping passengers, staff, and the railway community safe and secure in the railway environment.  The speaker will outline the historical and operational challenges in policing the UK railway network.
