About this event

The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) have signed an agreement to continue reciprocal recognition of requirements for Members of the two Institutions on 4  June 2009. This agreement applies to IET members who are professionally registered Chartered Engineers [CEng FIET/MIET]and HKIE members in Electrical (ELL), Electronics (ENS), Control, Automation & Instrumentation (CAI), Manufacturing & Industrial (MIE), and Information (INF) Engineering Disciplines. Furthermore, IET and HKIE have
signed a reciprocal recognition agreement for Associate members of HKIE and IEng IET on 22 March 2013. The briefing intends to inform the IET members about the latest requirements of registration for CEng and IEng FIET/MIET based on the United Kingdom Standard for Professional Engineering Competence (UKSPEC); the current professional status of IEng and CEng  FIET/MIET in Hong Kong and the implementation of the Reciprocal Recognition Agreement.
