About this event

The function is a joint event organised by local committee members from the Institution of Engineering and Technology (The IET) and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE). The two Institutions have a combined total membership of 200,000 worldwide and some 20,000 across the Midlands, our Members work in all sectors of Science, Engineering and Technology. Although the event is organised and marketed by the Institutions, the format is one of a black tie, business style networking event and is marketed as a function for engineers and the business community. The overall aim of the dinner is to raise the profile of the profession and to ensure that the region is aware of the vital economic contribution made by its engineering community.

The organising committee is dedicated to building the dinner into the Midlands premier engineering event and providing a platform for engineers to be seen and heard. This year the headline sponsors are QinetiQ and the key note address will be provide by Ian Beresford MBE, Engineering and Technical Director and will reflect upon the importance of effective graduate and apprentice pipelines to large engineering and technology organisations. The event if further enhanced by the following confirmed co-sponsors: Stadco, Manufacturing Advisory Service, Consilium, Jaguar LandRover, Manufacturing Technology Centre, Jonathan Lee Recruitment, Intel and Penso.
