About this event

In 1936 the RAF only held enough reserves of aviation fuel for 1 day of war.  However, a massive programme for the construction of protected fuel storage depots and pipelines was undertaken.  This ensured that during WW2 our armed forces in Britain and in Europe were supplied with fuel.  Tim Whittle, who has recently had two articles published and been interviewed by the BBC, will talk about the history of the construction and the operation of this vital fuel network.
