About this event

Running one's own business can be challenging, yet exciting, and obtaining the correct advice is always vital before taking the plunge.  In addition, some of the softer skills need to be considered as not everyone has the full range of attributes necessary to become their own boss. The session will also feature some useful data on the freelance marketplace, both at home and overseas and the likely growth in this modern way of working, where technology is such a great enabler.

About the speaker

Chris Bryce is Chief Executive and was one of the original 2000 members of the PCG, the representative organisation for freelancers, independent professionals and contractors, when it was formed in 1999 and was elected to its governing body in 2005 and from there to the Board of Directors in 2006. Chris was appointed as PCG’s interim CEO in June 2013 and confirmed in the role in November 2013 and is tasked with leading the organisation into its next phase of development. Alongside his work with PCG Chris was a contractor for 21 years, latterly as a provider of interim consultancy and management services based in the UK. Chris is now a permanent member of staff at PCG and works full time from their Westminster offices.
