Distributed Control of Energy Resources

Lecture

Local event icon image

With the increasing proliferation of micro-generators and electric vehicles to our energy generation networks, how can we best manange these distributed and remote power systems?

Date and Time

15 January 2014 - 18:30-21:00

Location

Stevenage, United Kingdom - icon_popup  (See map)

Organiser

Organised by the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire local network.

About this event

The increasing penetration of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) such as micro-generators and electric vehicles in the electricity network is expected to raise issues with the reliability of the power system, due to the lack of controllability of their energy output. As their numbers increase, it would become impractical or difficult to control them centrally. In this talk, we will discuss the concept of controlling these resources in a decentralised manner, using intelligent software agents.

A great opportunity for industrialists to hear from, and speak directly with, a broad spectrum of their end-users, and offer academics working in this field a platform from which to present their short to near-term future technology developments.
