About this event

Alstom Grid has over 100 years of expertise in electrical grids, products, services and integrated energy management solutions across the full energy value chain. Power transformers are key elements of every production process. The scope of Alstom’s Power Transformers Product Line covers all types of power transformers. Armed with state-of-the-art equipment, Alstom’s Power Transformer factory in Stafford acts as Alstom’s worldwide innovation centre for the design and manufacture of the largest and most complex Power Transformers.
Alstom operates its HVDC centre of excellence from Stafford. The facility offers R&D, test facilities, laboratories, and design and manufacturing capabilities, including the only Voltage Source Converter Demonstrator nationwide. The tour consists of visits to both facilities, beginning in the transformer factory, following the production line as it happens, before moving on to a walking tour of the VSC demonstrator.
All event participants must provide their shoe size upon registration in order to provide adequate PPE.
