About this event

A light hearted look at how to build and launch a satellite. The talk will cover the various subsystems that a satellite requires, how those subsystems are assembled and tested before launch, and the sort of applications that they can be put to once in orbit.

Although predicting the future is clearly an imprecise science, some advances in technology are likely to make a significant difference over the next 20 years, and the talk will endeavour to highlight them. The talk will conclude with a vision of how constellations of small satellites will change the ways in which we use space in the future.
