About this event

Over the last 30 years the UK electricity industry has gone through unprecedented change.  Up until now this change has gone largely unnoticed by ‘Joe public’; now the electricity companies are being asked to step out of the shadows and really engage with their customers all in the name of climate change.  This presentation will examine some of the challenges and opportunities faced by network operators and other stakeholders as they look to move seamlessly from operating passive distribution networks to managing smart networks.   The presentation will look at some of the key influencing factors over the last 30 years to see how these have shaped the industry of today and then draw a comparison with some of the current drivers, concluding with a view on what the future might hold for network operators and their customers.
