Speaker - Mike Loughlin - Rockwell Automation
The presentation will explore some of the current and future trends impacting UK Industry areas such as globalisation, convergence between Engineering and IT, Cyber Security, aging plant and workforce. Mike will discuss how leveraging a good Automation & Control philosophy can help customers be more flexible and responsive to the ever changing market and regulatory requirements. He will also discuss the requirement for Automation and Control systems to be more aligned to customer’s business KPI drivers and not just their engineering requirements

Mike Loughran is a Solutions Architect for the Rockwell Automation Architecture & Software Business Unit. He is responsible for the marketing and promotion of Allen-Bradley controller and software products. Mike provides sales consultancy on complex automation applications which require multiple hardware and software solutions.

Mike Joined Rockwell Automation in 2004 and has held sales positions in both the Software and End User Account sales teams, before he was appointed a Solutions Architect in 2008. Prior to joining Rockwell Automation Mike held sales positions at Mitsubishi Electric, Intellution Software and as an electrical engineer at Alstom Drives and Controls.

Mike holds a B.Eng (Hons) degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Liverpool John Moores University, Liverpool, a Higher National Certificate in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Teesside University, Middlesbrough, and is a member of the IET.
