About this event

The UPM Caledonian mill has been in production since April 1989. It produces a high quality Light Weight Coated paper (LWC) for use mainly in magazine publishing & catalogue business. 

It is the only UK manufacturer of this product and exports worldwide.  There are circa 325 employees based at the Irvine site.

It recently completed construction of one of the of the largest Renewable Energy Biomass CHP power plants in the UK.

Site directions will be provided to attendees.

Technical visit organised by the Institution of Engineering and Technology Scotland Manufacturing Technical Network.
