About this event

That the days of the cathode ray tube (CRT) are numbered is not news. We are now confronted with a baffling array of acronyms but it is the technology behind the Plasma, LCD, LED backlights, SED and OLED displays which interests engineers ! What other display technologies may appear in the years to come ? All this, along with the inevitable questions about what type of TV to buy will be covered by Richard Salmon Lead Research Engineer, BBC

Social Event - Fri 28 July 2017 at 10:00

Engineering Open House Day takes place on Friday 28 July 2017 (with the exception of two events) and aims to help children (7 - 16 years-old) and their parents understand what it’s like to work as an engineer. It gives them special, behind-the-scenes access to a wide variety of organisations to demonstrate how creative and innovative a career in engineering could be.
