About this event

This year our AGM will take place in the prestigious Panoramic Suite at Cheltenham Racecourse.  The formal part of the evening will be kept very brief!  We are delighted that Professor Nigel Linge, Professor of Telecommunications at the University of Salford has agreed to provide a talk entitled "From Man on the Moon to Life in Cyberspace".  This talk covers the evolution of the Internet and World Wide Web since Apollo 11 landed on the Moon - to the point where today virtually every aspect of daily life has been impacted and influenced.

Programme

7:00 - 7:30     Arrival - Tea/Coffee/Nibbles. A bar will be available
7:30 - 8:00     AGM
8:00 - 9:00     Talk by Professor Nigel Linge

Professor Hugh Griffiths of University College London (UCL) was chosen from a number of high calibre candidates from across the world to win the A F Harvey Engineering Research Prize. He was chosen due to his outstanding contributions to radar research and his continuing work to make major improvements in bistatic radar and its applications.
