About this event

“Joint Institutes Event - Guided Tour of Hong Kong Global Geopark of China” will be a half day guided
tour including the visit to Hong Kong Global Geopark of China at Sai Kung Volcanic Rock Region,
featuring distinctive hexagonal volcanic rock columns and various coastal geological features, coorganized
by YMS of the IET Hong Kong, CIArb(EAB), IMechE and ICE
The High Island Reservoir (????), located in the far south eastern part of the Sai Kung Peninsula,
was opened in 1978 helping to alleviate water shortage problems in Hong Kong. Its water capacity is
approximately 273 million cubic metres. The area it occupies was originally the Kwun Mun Channel (?
???), which separated High Island from the Sai Kung Peninsula.
Through the valuable eco-tour, participants are able to have a better understanding of Mother Nature
and develop a sense of respect for our countryside.

Note: The above fees per head (including registered R2G Geopark guide, cost of transportation and insurance of $100,000 for accidental death and disablement and $1,000 for accidental medical expenses (per accidental limit))
