About this event

Automated People Mover (APM) system is owned by Hong Kong Airport Authority. MTR has been
employed to undertake operations and maintenance of the system under a term contract since 2001. The
APM system includes APM central control console, communication system, automatic train control system,
power distribution system and vehicles. The characteristics of APM includes driverless operation, rubber
tyre running on concrete plinth and 600V ac power rail at tunnel side for traction power supply.
The event will include visits to the maintenance yard, control centre and tunnel tracks for introducing the
signal control and traction power system. This visit will focus on the maintenance procedure of the APM’s
vehicle and the operation structure of the traction power system.
