About this event

The IET Nuclear New Build Seminar focuses on the practicalities of new nuclear build through global case studies. Presenters from three companies / institutions will provide a broad industrial and academic viewpoint on this topic, discussing various aspects of nuclear plants such as construction and commissioning, engineering consultancy, education and development.

  • SNPTC (State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation) will provide an insight from AP1000  construction and commissioning experience in China together with examples of project management, engineering challenges and further development.

  • AMEC will discuss their involvement with various New Builds in the UK, UAE and East Europe. Furthermore, the use of project management, safety case management and practical implications of nuclear new build will be explored in detail.

  • Dalton Nuclear Centre in The University of Manchester will provide an insight into education compliance of skills and resource challenges. They will also describe the role of a university in the development of the UK nuclear industry and how the introduction of various education programmes can help to match the requirements of this dynamic market.
