About this event

Ditherington Flax Mill was completed in 1797 and is considered the“granfather of skyscrapers” due to its five-story construction. The buildingis derelict but was given grade I listing status in the 1950s and is currentlyowned by English Heritage. 
The visit will review the site and the innovation displayed in the worlds oldest iron-framed building and demonstrate the challenge that it's redevelopment presents.

Logistics
Meet at the Mill, there is adequate parking inside the gate, wear stout/comfortable footwear, Flaxmill will provide hard hats.
Photography is fine, as long as keen photographers do not linger too long and get left behind.
Local pub Dolphin post visit for refreshments and discussion.
