The Institution of Engineering & Technology, Aerospace Technical Professional Network are organising a Short Presentations Competition as one of the workshop presentations at Aviation Electronics Europe (AEE) which is being held in Munich on 19-20 June 2018.

If you are a Bachelor or Masters student in a field related to the Aerospace/Aviation sector or graduated not more than five years ago then the Network would like to invite you to submit an abstract on either of the following two themes:

  • Aviation Electronics Europe (AEE) - Improving Performance, Integration and Harmonisation in SESAR and Next-Gen
  • Aerospace Testing (AST) - Developing SESAR Next-Gen Testing Strategies

We are aligning our competition to the themes for AEE and AST, so please visit
www.ae-expo.eu/call-papers for further details of the discussion topics.

  •  Your abstract must refer to a specific challenge around one of the above two themes and include at least four of the following points.
    • How did you come up with the solution/idea to the problem identified?
    • What alternatives did you consider and what criteria did you apply in making your selection?
    • How did you test/validate the solution/idea in terms of applicability, practicality, effectiveness, efficiency or other factors?
    • Is your solution/idea viable and why?
    • Is there something else that must be done to complete your proposal?

The abstracts will be assessed by a panel of judges representing the Aerospace Technical Professional Network, who will select the best five to go to through to the final presentation competition in Munich.

The organisers of AEE/AST have kindly offered each of the five finalists a free conference place worth 800 Euros. Each finalist will also give a presentation based on their abstract for 15 minutes, followed by a five-minute Q&A session, to an audience of industry professionals, students and academics at the IET competition on Tuesday, 19 June 2018 in Munich. The judges will then select a winner who will receive a prize of £150 or local currency equivalent. The winner will be announced at the conference evening networking session on Tuesday 19th June 2018.

Why should you enter?

  • A chance to tell us about your ideas and your work
  • Opportunities for mentoring and skill development
  • The finalists will receive feedback on their presentations from the judges
  • Each finalist will be given a free conference place worth 800 euros
  • Opportunity for professional networking and hearing about what your peers are up to
