About this event

This talk will give an introduction to the technology of High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) power transmission, which is increasingly being used to help integrate large-scale renewable power sources to the grid. Some of the real-world engineering challenges presented by this technology will be presented from the perspective of a physicist-turned-engineer.  This is a joint event with the IoP, organised by the IoP.
