About this event

We are delighted to announce our next Annual Healthcare Lecture will be taking place 27 September 2017. Come along and listen to 2017s IET Healthcare Award winners and our keynote speaker Professor Kevin Warwick "Neural Implants for Therapy and Enhancement".

Implants connected into the brain can be employed both for therapeutic purposes and also for enhancement. Here we look at present and future uses of cochlea implants and deep brain stimulation. But also we will consider the BrainGate both for therapy and human enhancement, in order to extend the human nervous system across the internet and to create new forms of communication. Biohacking will also be investigated.

Before Professor Warwick’s talk, the winners of the IET Healthcare Technologies Student and Early Career Awards (Dennis Hill Award, William James Award, and J.A. Lodge Award) will present their groundbreaking work.
