Following the huge success of the inaugural UK Robotics Week last year, the 2017 UK Robotics Week will once more come to a close with the pinnacle event of this celebration: the International Robotics Showcase.

Following the huge success of the inaugural UK Robotics Week last year, the 2017 UK Robotics Week will once more come to a close with the pinnacle event of this celebration: the International Robotics Showcase.

Jointly organised by the EPSRC UK-RAS Network and the IET, the International Robotics Showcase will be on Friday 30 June 2017. This all-day event will take place at IET London: Savoy Place.

The diverse and exciting activities include:

  • Exciting demonstrations of cutting edge robotics technology;
  • Lively discussion and debate, covering ethical, legal and economic impacts of Robotics and AI;
  • The release of several new White Papers, covering the current research landscape in:
    • Extreme Environments;
    • AI and Machine Learning;
    • Social Care Robotics;
    • Resilient Infrastructure;
    • and Surgical Robotics.

The day also offers academics, industry, government organisations and the public, the opportunity to enjoy the fascinating and diverse exhibits by our sponsors, as well as provide a lively forum for discussion and discovery of some of the latest technological developments and research challenges in Robotics and Autonomous Systems.

We are proud to include prominent, global leaders of their field who, through their wide-ranging expertise, insight and analysis, will aim to provide a spotlight on the UK's technology leadership in robotics and autonomous systems.

The event will conclude with an award ceremony to all our challenge winners; by engagement in these challenges, using them as catalysts for collaboration and innovation, the UK-RAS Network is proud to present some truly cutting edge technologies to the public. These challenges, run throughout the year, have increased the level of engagement in RAS, and AI and have also helped to encourage and shape the role, the nation's schools, colleges and universities have, in developing the digital skills needed to drive the UK's future economy.
