About this event

The direction and potential future of renewable energy: It is a challenge to control and maintain predictable and consistent power generation with the present renewable energy technology. This seminar presents the various options of energy storage, as a potential to overcoming these challenges.

Although not fully dressed with all the answers, SSEPD and others have now gained a significant amount of experience in energy storage solutions for the electrical Distribution networks, what are they,  what is working, what is not working, what is needed to make them work?

Speaker:

Stewart Reid, Future Networks Manager, Scottish and Southern Energy Power Distribution

Stewart leads SSE’s team dedicated to developing the company’s electricity networks, and their operation, to support a low carbon future.

Stewart has worked in the electricity industry since 1983 and has been involved in managing electricity networks in many parts of Scotland, in a range of roles including, Operations Manager, Planner, Policy Engineer and Project Manager (IT and Engineering). He is a graduate of the Open University and a Fellow of the IET. Stewart's full biography is available to download online.
