About this event

For many rural householders and businesses the lack of adequate broadband connectivity remains a real issue, with no sign of it being resolved. As “superfast” broadband is being rolled out across the country, it is mostly those who already had a reasonable DSL service who are now getting superfast fibre, whilst those with nothing or dial-up or very slow DSL, have seen no improvement.  It seems as if UK government as well as European policies have prioritised speed over universal access. So, how to reach the last few % of the country with a reasonable broadband service at a reasonable price and is there a greater role for satellite?

This debate looks at government policy and asks a range of experts from the fibre, wireless and satellite industries how best to reach the rural population, looking at both policy and technical issues.
