About this event

Joint replacement has been one of the major successes of modern medicine. Its continued success depends on effective collaboration between clinicians and researchers across many different areas of science and medicine.

For our April lecture we are delighted to welcome Andrew Perry, a consultant surgeon who works for the NHS and is in private practice. He will outline many of the processes connected to this important surgical procedure.

Andrew will explain the history of joint replacement, its principles including the indications, surgery and recovery. Additionally he will provide an insight into future developments in joint replacement.

It promises to be an interesting and informative lecture and will clearly demonstrate the close ties between medicine and engineering science – a fact perhaps hitherto not recognised by many people.

Speaker

Mr Andrew Perry BSc, MBBS, FRCS (Tr & Orth)
