Globe (image)

“Big data is like teenage sex: everyone talks about it, nobody really knows how to do it, everyone thinks everyone else is doing it, so everyone claims they are doing it...” (Dan Ariely) In a world of buzzwords, Big Data is probably the most overused. But what does it mean, why does it matter and how can you and your company make money from it? This SIG moves beyond data collection and visualisation and focuses squarely on data prediction.
