The 2013 conference will focus on wind and solar power generation (both PV and solar thermal power) and integration into power systems. This conference is the second in the planned annual series linked to the IET journal, Renewable Power Generation (RPG). The aim is to provide a forum for the latest research in renewable power generation technology and issues of integration into power systems. The link to the journal is emphasized by the commitment to dedicated special issue for the best papers in these RPG conferences.

It is planned to alternate conference locations between Europe and Asia, since both continents are seeing a major deployment of renewable power generation. The first in this RPG series took place in Edinburgh, and the 2013 conference will take place in Beijing. The Editorial Board of RPG, supported by additional researchers, will provide the Scientific Committee, thus ensuring the highest standards.
