About this event

The concept of 'green' IT in general and 'green data-centres' is highly debatable - maybe 'greener' is more fitting?  Many estimates put the current power demand of data-centres above 2% of the output of the national grid and rising fast, even in a recession.

This talk will review what a data-centre 'is', the part that data-centres play in the digital economy, the current growth rate, the drivers for growth and the trends that are making data-centres 'greener' than ever before.  The areas covered will be power, cooling and the IT hardware itself.
