About this event

Mike Gibbons - MD, Definiteco Ltd

Audio Visual systems installed into high end residences and superyachts have become increasingly more complex, often requiring close integration with many other different systems. Lighting control, H.V.A.C, IT networks and security/CCTV systems are now expected to all come together to form a single "Integrated Technology System" that is both robust and reliable and yet easy for the User to operate and control. Recent advances in technology, particularly the advent of HMDI and streaming media, have all helped to shape the way these systems are designed and implemented. Users now expect instant access to movies and music along with seamless integration of their own portable devices (e.g. iPhones, iPads, etc). The challenge for a system integrator is to present the User with an intuitive control interface that essentially makes the complex systems behind the scenes very easy to use and interact with. Mike's presentation aims to provide an insight into current best practices and how developments in consumer technologies in recent years have driven their evolution.
