About this event

Participants are invited to design and build a device capable of transporting an egg using only limited components within a time limit. What will the challenge be? Catapulting an egg as far as possible or to build a crane to transport an egg to the centre of a target, perhaps?

The winning team receives a prize!

Refreshments will be available during the event.

Registration is not necessary - just turn up as an individual or as a team!

This free event is open to all Young Professionals (those currently studying or those who have graduated within the past 10 years) and is not limited to Southampton University students. IET members and non-IET members are welcome.

Engineering Open House Day takes place on Friday 28 July 2017 (with the exception of two events) and aims to help children (7 - 16 years-old) and their parents understand what it’s like to work as an engineer. It gives them special, behind-the-scenes access to a wide variety of organisations to demonstrate how creative and innovative a career in engineering could be.
