Course
The four day tutorial based course addresses both signalling and signalling control systems as well as their associated sub-systems, together with the major system and sub-system interfaces.
This course covers areas such as the fundamental design and assurance requirements, regulatory regimes and maintenance and life-cycle of systems.
About this event
This four day professional development course addresses the signal and control system as well as its sub-sub systems and major interfaces.
System applications and integration are considered in the context of mainline and metro-type environments. The design and project engineering skills necessary are presented through to the integration lessons learnt in the areas of electro-magnetic compatibility and human factors.
The course aims to provide an essential broad understanding of the technical and engineering management skills essential for those relatively new to the field as well as those continuing their professional development in this area of railway engineering.
The course includes lecturers who have worked on railways throughout the world.
The technical programme will cover the following themes over the four-day duration:
- Signal and control systems in context
- Fundamentals of signal systems
- Signal system, design and build
- Systems engineering
- Modern and future system needs
An essential part of this Professional Development Course is the opportunity for participants to explore wider issues and make contacts. The course includes technical and social events which provide great occasions for networking in a more relaxed atmosphere.
