This IET visit provides a unique opportunity to see and appreciate the theatre's state of the art AV facilities which support its productions.
The National Theatre is one of London's leading theatres. Enjoying breath taking views from the South Bank of the Thames, the NT is well known for its brutalist architecture and varied and innovative range of productions. Opened in 1976, the NT actually comprises three separate theatre spaces, the Olivier, Lyttelton and Cottesloe. Together, these host over 1500 performances a year entertaining a total audience of 1.6 million people. In 2009, the NT launched National Theatre Live (NTLive!), a program of simulcasts of live productions extending its audience reach to movie theatre venues in other cities both in the United Kingdom and then internationally.
