This event will cover aspects of the findings of the Government's 2009 Digital Britain report.
The Digital Britain Final Report published by Lord Carter in June 2009 covers the central policy commitments in the Government's Building Britain's Future plan and draft legislative programme. It suggests that satellites could play a role in the delivery of Digital Britain but the treatment of the potential for satellite was cursory and lacked detail. This seminar is aimed at exploring the full potential of satellite in delivering government policies related to digital inclusion (TV, broadband, superfast broadband, eGovernment services, skills and learning).
This discussion is needed now in order to influence the policies, strategies and structures that will be put in place to deliver the Digital Britain vision over the next year.
The final Digital Britain report identified an overall strategy for delivering TV / video / broadband / superfast broadband and associated value-added services.
The subject areas addressed by the event will cover all aspects through:
Policy makers: senior civil servants, regional/county/local councillors, RDA chairmen
Regulators: covering communications, spectrum, broadcasting, security
Senior managers: from manufacturers, operators and service providers concerned with government policy and their own company strategies
Engineers: system designers, component designers, software engineers, technology strategists
Business Development Managers
