Introduction
User Worked Crossings (UWCs) were identified as the highest risk on the rail network at our successful seminar on Level Crossings in 2007.
This seminar provides railway engineering professionals with the opportunity to explore this important issue in greater depth. As the most common type of crossing, UWCs present the highest danger to railway safety as they rely on the integrity of the individual user, impacting particularly upon the farming community as well as the travelling public at large. Providing a unique opportunity to bring the railway and user representative bodies together the seminar will provide a forum to understand the problems and explore how technology can be appropriately applied to mitigate the risks.
Come and hear a series speakers give a 360 degree view of the issues associated with User Worked Crossings.
Who should attend?
This seminar will be particularly relevant to senior engineers, design engineers, managers, and researchers working in the fields of:
- Rail safety assurance and standards
- Operations (including freight)
- Infrastructure
- Engineering consultancy
- Technology supply and development
- Rail maintenance
