Nuclear Installation Ageing and Life Extension: Plugging the energy gap
Time
09:30 - Register
16:00 - Close
Location
Haydock Park Racecourse, Merseyside, UK
Introduction
The 2007 energy white paper highlighted the potential “energy gap” in the period 2010-2020 as existing large fossil and nuclear plant are decommissioned. The need to plug this gap may be met by life extension of existing nuclear facilities. For life extension of existing facilities, management of material condition will become increasingly important. This will create a need for innovative solutions to monitor and manage plant material condition, manage investment in plant, and for refurbishment / replacement of components in harsh environments.
About the event
This event will explore all these issues drawing on experience from UK and overseas speakers from industry and government organisations.
Benefits of attending
- Facilitate sharing of best practice amongst nuclear operators
- Improve communications between key players across the fuel cycle
