The new EMC Directive and technical documentation: a workshop for the railway industry

Introduction
This workshop looks at the practical implications for the railway industry of 2004/108/EC and particularly focuses on the requirement for manufacturers to draw up ‘technical documentation’; it also looks at the implications for infrastructure controllers of ‘fixed installations’. You will learn:
- What is in the scope of the EMC Directive
- How to demonstrate conformity and apply the CE Marking
- What the requirements are for an EMC assessment
- Railway EMC standards: a review of the latest version of EN 50121; LU and RSSB EMC standards
- What should be included in technical documentation
- What the Notified Bodies are and how they can be useful to you
- What needs to be recorded by “person(s) responsible for Fixed Installations.”
