Registration process
The registration process explained
The IET operates a four stage application process for professional registration. The process flow below shows stages before and after submitting an application for professional registration.
The links to each of these stages in the left hand menu provide further information to help you decide whether you are ready to apply and how to prepare your application.
You are advised to read through the whole process before beginning your application. A straightforward application may take around 20 weeks to process. Your registration coordinator will keep you updated with the progress of your application including any changes to the expected processing time.
